Our Story
HOW WE MET
Once upon a time, there were two 20-somethings rounding out their third year at Oregon State University and despite sharing mutual friend groups, had never met each other. With Spring midterms week approaching, both were headed to the Valley Library in search of a quiet place to set up shop and study the night away. Luckily, their friends had secured a table ahead of time and extended an invitation to join, where these two kids crossed paths. Studying pre-medicine at the time, Pierce noticed Jessica was diving into her Anatomy notes in preparation for an upcoming exam. Pierce tried connecting with Jessica by starting a conversation and sharing useful information to help her study, but Jessica did not return the enthusiasm. Leaving that interaction apathetic towards each other, they moved on without a second thought. Merging friend circles during summer courses provided an opportunity for Pierce and Jess to spend more time getting to know each other and grew a summer love over the next month. Deciding to make it official on August 4th, 2010, they have faced 11 years of victories and challenges together while gaining a few fur babies along the way.
OUR ENGAGEMENT
Over the years, Pierce and Jess have been dedicated to traveling more, so when it came time for the proposal, Pierce planned a spontaneous trip to Chicago in February 2020. Spending the day checking out the sites and trying Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, Pierce and Jess headed back to their hotel to escape the frigid windy city weather. While watching tv, Pierce kneeled next to Jessica and started his proposal speech. Before his knee even touched the floor, Jessica responded with excitement “Of course, I’ll marry you, ya dummy!” Now ready to get married, they are excited to share the day celebrating and dancing the night away with our closest friends and family.
OUR MARRIAGE
We are so fortunate to have so many friends and family join us to celebrate our wedding day at on August 6th, 2022 at Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, Washington. Following our big day, we set off to our Honeymoon exploring Singapore and Bali, Indonesia! Once we returned from our vacation, we began our family planning and found out we were pregnant Janaury 2023!
